P  O  W  E  R  E  D    B  Y	Information The Belfrey Theatre The Belfrey Theatre is part of the Belfrey Arts Centre which was converted from the old Princes Street Primary School in 1971. The Belfrey Theatre also have a thriving Youth Theatre. The Youth theatre are also very heavily involved in the panto which is performed in January, and the musical production which is in July. This gives them the opportunity to work together as one big team. Older youth, Younger youth and Adults all performing together, teaching each other their skills and learning to respect each other, no matter what. Entries for the 5th Derek Lomas Playwrighting competition are now being sought. The rules can be found on our main website. Submit your plays to plays@belfreytheatre.com The competition is part of the 10th Annual Wellington Literary Festival, more info of which can be found on our main website. The 33rd Wellington Drama Festival, was a huge success, the Adjudicator, Scott Marshall (GODA), provided excellent comments on all the plays performed during the week and declared that the standard was high.
