|From Russia, For Love - Curated by Culturcated Theatre|
On June 30th this year Russian President, Vladimir Putin, signed into law a bill banning "the propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations to minors," a bill which threatens members of Russia's LGBT communities with fines and imprisonment and puts them in increasing danger of being specifically targeted by those now committing acts of violence with impunity.
From Russia, For Love brings together theatre companies and performers from the UK and abroad to present an evening of Russia's finest love scenes all performed with same-sex couples; an evening of secret assignations, deserted hallways, snatched whispers over the samovar, the ache of a love unspoken, and the ecstasy of finally making your declaration, against the odds.
Passion, betrayal, romance, yearnings, and most importantly, hope. It is an evening about love, and no-one does love quite like the Russians…
The proceeds of the performance will go to groups working to combat homophobia in Russia.
Please be aware that it is a promenade performance. If you require a seat please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Unfortunately the performance space is not wheelchair accessible. If you have any access requirements please get in touch and we will see how we can help.
