Flautist and mezzo-soprano Emily Andrews and classical guitarists David Massey and Francisco Correa present a storytelling concert, loosely based around the theme of ‘Carmen’ . A different way to present a unique programme of wonderful and varied Spanish themed music for combinations of guitars, flute and voice, where the musicians remain in character throughout and present a story of love, rivalry, music and reconciliation which the music helps to illustrate. It includes several original arrangements from ‘Carmen’ as well as music by Albeniz, de Falla, de Lorca and Rodrigo.
Emily, David and Francisco are all Royal Academy of Music Masters graduates and prizewinning soloists, and have worked together in various combinations for 10 years alongside their solo engagements. They are always looking for new challenges, new concert ideas and new repertoire, and this production is their most ambitious yet.
