Cantemus Chamber Choir
Cantemus Chamber Choir, based in Cardiff, is fast establishing a reputation as one of the country’s finest choirs. With an experienced membership of around thirty voices, our conductor is Huw Williams, Director of Music at Bath Abbey. Our President is the internationally-renowned countertenor, James Bowman. We sing a wide range of music from the Renaissance to the present day and we’re particularly noted for our performances of Baroque music. We’ve featured on the BBC ‘One Show’, BBC Radio 3’s ‘In Tune’ and BBC Radio 4's Sunday Worship, and have performed Handel’s Messiah at Buckingham Palace, where we received a standing ovation. We appear frequently at classical music festivals and gave the world premiere of a major new work by Giles Swayne at the St David’s Cathedral Festival. Working regularly with musicians and soloists of national and international repute, we maintain a busy concert diary and have undertaken numerous successful tours. Our latest CD, Under a Celtic Sky was released in October 2017 on the Regent Record Label.
