Changeling Events in partnership with The Bakers Field proudly bring you another evening of fine fine music in a warm and intimate setting with two amazing & captivating performers.
What kinda music does Xan Tyler play? Based on her summery lovers rocky dub songs with Mad Professor (arguably the UK's best known dub producer), you'd be forgiven for thinking she is a dub reggae artist. If you heard that she is currently completing an album of epic filmic alt-folk dream- pop with US producer Kramer (Galaxie 500, Low, Urge Overkill), you'd also be forgiven for thinking she's an indie artist.
Given Xan's collaborations with Naomi Bedford and Paul Simmonds, you might also think she is a folk artist. There have been many releases from within the world of electronica from Xan too but the truth is her distinctive sound and songwriting style is at home in all these places and making beautiful, creative, inspirational music is what matters to her most. Xan is an artist and her songs tell stories in a universe of different ways.
Xan is joined on stage by John Roonie (Starry Skies) and Adam Scott (Zoey Van Goey) and the trio perform beautifully paired down acoustic versions of Xan's songs and a reworked cover song or two for fun.
Me Lost Me a.k.a Jayne Dent hails from the fair city of Newcastle and fuses traditional folk narratives with electronics and wonky pop sensibilities to beguiling effect. We saw her recently in Glasgow performing at the Glad Cafe and knew immediately that we had to get her up to Fife as soon as we could. We love her and hope most sincerely that you will too.
