Ross Purves 'music and maps'

Maps help us make sense of people and landscapes around us. Music can do the same. Here Ross Purves (DMU) explores fascinating links between cartography and music. He will consider the map as a creative stimulus for music-making, as a tool for understanding musical behaviour and—drawing upon on going research—a means of highlighting inequities in musical participation. Introduced by Dr Barry Dufour, visiting Professor of Education Studies (DMU).
