STROSZEK

Stroszek is a German drama directed by Werner Herzog. Bruno Stroszek (sight reader Bruno S.) is an alcoholic Berlin street performer. Released from prison he goes to familiar bar where he meets his homeless friend, prostitute Eva. Together with neighbor Scheitz they go to America in search of a better life. In the beginning they do quite well, but as time passes, Stroszek feels lonely, unfulfilled and helpless. His beautiful dream turns into a nightmare. This masterpiece from Herzog is a moving ballad about finding happiness.
