Walk 16. Marcle Ridge Panorama
A chance to experience the panoramic views of Herefordshire as you walk along the top of the
Marcle Ridge. The walk includes 28 stiles and a slow 400ft climb to the ridge (paced to suit the group); and also small lanes, villages, churches. The walk begins near Woolhope, passing close to St George's church before taking an undulating cross-country route to the base of Marcle Ridge. There will be an opportunity for a refreshment stop during the climb up to the Ridge. We then turn south and follow the ridgeline for just over a mile and throughout there should be marvellous views of the Malverns to the east. Leaving the ridgeline we head west for a lunch stop at the church of St Michael in Sollers Hope. The route then heads north back towards Woolhope via a combination of footpaths and a very short stretch of quiet country lane. Bring a picnic lunch.
