D'Eon - Exclusive Educational Performance

In 1769, at the age of 41, Monsieur Chevalier D'Eon de Beaumont stepped out of the limelight as a French diplomat to England, Russian spy, Prussian war hero and international bon viveur only to step back in as the woman she truly was.

Proudly wearing the Chevalier d'Honneur medal on her flowing robes she outraged and antagonised the whole of the French aristocracy, spending astronomical amounts of English Guineas and running up huge diplomatic debts fighting for her very existence and acceptance in an unforgiving society.

This bizarre, true story is bold, challenging, provocative and painfully funny: reaching deep into our perceptions of normality, acceptability and promiscuity, setting an historical thumbprint on the way we live our lives in an "enlightened" twenty-first century.

The Straight Acting Theatre Company will be offering an educational performance of D'Eon on Thursday 15th February 2018 at 14:30, exclusively for LGBTQ Groups within the Greater Manchester area.

This will be an exclusive performance followed by a question and answer session with the Author/Director and Cast.
This is a great opportunity to learn about an important element of LGBTQ history as well as explore the inner working of a theatre production.

Tickets for other performances of D'Eon are available directly from Hope Mill Theatre Box Office:
