Park and Write: exploring Wallsend Parks

Did you know that Wallsend has not one but three adjacent public parks? Richardson Dees Park is sandwiched between Wallsend Hall Grounds and Prince Road Arboretum. The three open spaces offer visitors differing but complementary wildlife, exercise, heritage, local history experiences...for free!

North Tyneside-based writers Elaine Cusack and Jennifer C Wilson enjoy running creative writing workshops in a variety of settings. Elaine and Jennifer are using the annual, national event, Love Parks Week (14th-23rd July) as an excuse to run an afternoon writing workshop in Richardson Dees Park Community Pavilion.

Come and be inspired by Jennifer's writing prompts designed to get you thinking about the green space, wildlife, history and people around you. Take a walk, absorb inspiration then come back to the pavilion and write.

The workshop lasts two and a half hours. Please bring writing materials and wear appropriate footwear if you intend to join us for a short, inspirational walk. There will be complimentary water on offer and other refreshments can be bought from the adjoining Verandah Cafe.

Disabled access is available in most areas of the Parks. Please contact the park for more information wallsendparks@northtyneside.gov.uk 0191 643 7897.

Park and Write is organised by local arts organisation The Next Page.
