The Last Days of Disco - cinema / cities - crisis

cinema cities - crisis

Two recent Hampshire college graduates escape at night from their jobs as assistants in publishing house to the most popular dance club of the moment during disco's last days in the very early 1980's. There they fall in with a slightly older group of guys who were friends and antagonists at Harvard.

Our cinema/cities strand will feature films were the city is central to the form and narrative of the film, whether that be through its architecture, the public and private urban spaces within them or the conditions in which the protagonist are forced to operate under.

We will explore film used as an art form of the urban through short thematic seasons, set in New York City The Last Days of Disco, with a title that suggests an end and a beginning, is the latest film in a series loosely themed around the concept of"Crisis".
