SHEKU KANNEH-MASON ('cello) and ISATA KANNEH-MASON (piano)
Sheku Kanneh-Mason is the 2016 BBC Young Musician of the Year. Only 18 years old, Sheku's international career is developing quickly - his Proms debut at the Royal Albert Hall was in 2017 with the Chineke! Orchestra. Sheku began learning the cello at the age of six and then studied at the Royal Academy of Music where he is now studying on a full-time degree course. Sheku performs regularly with his sister Isata (who joins him in Seaton) and his brother Braimah. He plays an Antonius and Hieronymus Amati cello c1610.
Sheku’s programme is yet to be announced, but we can be sure this will be a thrilling evening with one of the world’s outstanding young musicians.
Concert supported by Ken Thomas and Iain McDonald.
