BRAZIL (1985) - Terry Gilliam Season

If we had to define one film as Terry Gilliam's absolute masterpiece it would be Brazil. The plot seems so simple: a bureaucrat, in a retro-future world, tries to correct an administrative error, and becomes an enemy of the state. Yet Gilliam's style prevents this more being a simple tale of the little man against the State, as we follow Sam Lowry's journey through a bizarre, Kafta-esque world. All Sam wants to do is fly away and spend eternity with the woman of his dreams - when he meets her on his travels, things get even more complicated.
