Great Bowden Recital Trust

GBRT is a UK registered music charity established in 2004 with the aim of music development,
appreciation and participation for all.

In the early days we ran three professional concerts a year where the profits were given to local young musicians who could not afford music lessons. Fifteen years later, GBRT funds around 300 instrumental and vocal lessons for local young musicians a year, as well as running an annual music competition, workshops and around 15 concerts each year.

We also run eight choirs and ensembles for adults and young people including: flutes, saxophones, vocal and two mixed-instrument ensembles covering most music genres including jazz, contemporary and classical. These choirs and ensembles, which have nearly 200 members aged from 5 years to 80, regularly perform in the UK and have toured Europe including France, Spain, Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands. You will hear our Adult Vocal Choir and Sax Choir perform today. As a community- based charity, we do not audition for places. All we ask is for members to be enthusiastic, enjoy music and have fun.
