Hatfield Association

The Hatfield Association was founded in 1946 when the college was threatened with amalgamation with Castle (aka University College).

The Association has a membership of over 4,000 Hatfield graduates who opt, by paying a small joining fee, to become life members when they join the college.

On graduation, alumni automatically become life members of the Association, if they have not already joined as undergraduates.

The general aims of the Association are to further the educational interests and welfare of the College and to support the Hatfield Trust.

Key functions are to:

  • organise an annual reunion in Durham
  • publish the Hatfield Record
  • promote regional activities for its members

Details of Association activities and reports of meetings are published annually in the Hatfield Record and members can keep up to date via the Association web site, https://hatfield-association.co.uk, or the Facebook page.
