Liverpool Mozart Orchestra

The Liverpool Mozart Orchestra is one of the UK’s leading amateur orchestras.  Its members include experienced players from a wide range of occupational backgrounds, many of them professional music teachers. Founded in 1951, the LMO works with renowned soloists and conductors, which over its long history have included Peter Donohoe, Zubin Mehta, Martin Roscoe, Sir Charles Groves, Guy Woolfenden, Carl Davis, its Conductor Laureate Mark Heron and its President, Sir Simon Rattle. The LMO also has a long standing tradition of offering a platform for talented young musicians near the beginning of their professional careers and has close ties with Chetham’s School of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music.
