Fantasia Harmony Meadows
The Meadows are a vibrant multi-instrumentalist Celtic-Crossover band, all drawn from one family. Bringing cutting-edge techniques and an exciting, contemporary vibe to every show, the band perform original works which weave between foot stomping reels to rich vocal harmonies, taking their audiences on an spellbinding journey.
2017 was an exhilarating year for The Meadows. Apart from completing the E.P. ‘Through the Fayre’, they toured Great Britain with a self-produced original show, Celtic Journey, alongside the international singer Kristyn Murphy who joined them from Maine. The show included both original works and The Meadows’ fresh reinterpretations of Celtic music, woven together with stories and dance drawn from the rich heritage of the Celtic Nations. “Don't miss this wonderful show. A breathtaking evening… Love this immensely talented group!” one audience member stated while another described Celtic Journey as “so magically different and so wonderfully enchanting, exciting and captivating. Show two is tomorrow and I can't wait.” During the tour, they performed live on television networks and BBC Radio Wales where listeners contacted the station to ask whether their performance really had been live. The Meadows have twice played sets at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections, the International Music Eisteddfod in Llangollen, the Fishguard Folk Festival, How the Light Gets In, The Little Big Gig, Cardiff’s WMC and many other festivals and events along with regular airplay on both national and international radio and T.V. networks. Several of their original works have debuted on BBC radio. They have been Classically-trained under the tutelage of some of Britain's finest musicians including Prof. Barry Haskey (retired leader of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales), Matthew Featherstone (BBC, principle flute), Christopher Williams (BBC & W.N.O., piano), the late Eva Stewart (BBC, principle piccolo), the world-renowned contemporary flute composer Prof. Ian Clarke (Guildhall).
