YouthAbility Lego Fire Walk for Teenager Cancer Trust

Walney Community Centre, Barrow-in-Furness, LA14 3HY
Thu 3rd October 2019

Although we are a charity ourself we are outward looking and also like to support other local causes. Early in the year the community joined us in a sponsored walk for Emily.

We have decided that we will be organising another sponsored event in October for the Teenage Cancer Trust. We have decided to pick this amazing charity as one of our members sister benefited from their support.

Below is a short statement why we are raising money for this charity.

The sponsored event will be a LEGO FIRE WALK

Sponsorship forms will be availible next week and we hope that as many people from the wider community will also take part

“Leigh Ann has had a benign brain tumor for about 5 years now and has had two major operations. she recently had proton therapy at Christie's manchester and spent 8 weeks there, she is doing fine. whilst there the teenage Cancer trust were amazing even though she hasn't got cancer. everybody having proton beam therapy and or chemotherapy got there help. they supported Leigh Ann with emotional help dealing with it, and with practical help also they put lots of activities on including dominoes pizza nights once aweek where she met tennagers going through the same treatment which really helped her, they also. took her tree top trecking in Heaton park , and to a escape room in Manchester. the also help her and others to put a party on for the toddlers going the cancer treatment. in short they made what was a really bad time quite pleasant they were amazing.”
