Cobie took up the guitar early in her childhood and went on to study full-time at the conservatories of Rotterham and The Hague, later becaming established as one of Holland's leading young players. She and John married in 1984 and spent three years in New Zealand from 1985-88 teaching and performing widely both there and in Australia. Cobie performed the Rodrigo Concerto with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and has recorded for Philips. She now teaches at both Downside Abbey and Millfield School in Somerset and Salisbury Cathedral School in Wiltshire.
John Mills is a former student of John Williams, Julian Bream, and the Spanish legendary guitarist Andres Segovia. A graduate of the Royal College of Music, he has been active on the concert scene for 56 years, including tours in North America, Brazil, Europe, Scandinavia, and SE Asia. He was a Professor at The Royal Academy of Music for twenty years, and Head of Guitar at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Cardiff for nearly thirty years.
Their programme will include music by Bach, Schubert, Piazzolla, Albeniz and Granados.
