Despite being composed for choir, soloists and orchestra following the deaths of three of his children, Antonín Dvořák's "Stabat Mater" is a wonderfully lyrical and uplifting work. It was clearly written from the heart and it deserves to be performed more often.
For this performance Wokingham Choral Society will be supported by the Hampstead Chamber Orchestra and professional soloists.
This will be a rare Lenten treat and the beautiful tunes will stay with you long after the performance has ended.
