We will start in Bishop's Castle by taking the 9.40am Shrewsbury bus, alighting at the Old Post Office, Shelve. The first part of the walk is across Stapeley Common, looking for Mountain Pansies, then heading for the stone circle at Mitchell's Fold. The first big climb takes us to the top of Corndon Hill, which offers great views across to Cader Idris. The second climb is to the Iron Age fort on the top of Roundton Hill. This is also a nature reserve, where we might spot Peregrines. We then descend into the Camlad Valley before climbing up to the Kerry Ridgeway and then down into Bishop's Castle, arriving around 4.30pm for afternoon tea and cakes, or maybe a beer.
Please bring a packed lunch, snacks and drinks.
