HRH The Duke of Gloucester: Baroque Architecture: A fashion or a belief?

Sun 9th June 2019
New Warwick Hall, Burford, OX18 4RP
Baroque architecture originated in Italy and spread to France, Spain, Germany and England. The style ceased to be popular after 1720 in England but continued on the Continent for another 50 years.  HRH the Duke of Gloucester will draw on his architectural knowledge and special interest in architectural preservation to explain why this happened in Britain but not across the Channel.
