Kings Inn, Castlewellan, BT31 9DW
Sat 20th July 2019
Is amhranaí, cumadóir and láithreoir í Emma ó Ghaoth Dobhair. Is réalt í atá ag éirigh go h-ard agus í ag canadh go driochta, ag meascadh ceol gormacha le ceol traidisiúnta. Thug sí tacaíocht do Edi Reader agus Paul Brady le déanaí agus tá sí faoi láthair ag léireadh an sraith ráthúil sin fá choinne BBC2, Trad ar Fad. Is amhránaí cluiteach agus buaiteoir an Charn Uí Riada é Doiminc Mac Giolla Bhríde. Is as Gaoth Dobhair do chomh maith. Bíonn Doimnic dírithe ar cumadh agus canadh amhránaí sean-nós. Bíonn amhráin nach bhfuil ach na liricí fágtha againn athbheoite aige agus tugann sé beocht úr do amhránaí eile a bheas aithne ag an lucht féachana orthu. Is é Clann Mhic Ruairí buíon cheoil príomha na hóiche. Ó Rann na Feirste, sa Ghaeltacht Thír Chonaill ó dhuachais, is féidir leis an bhuíon cheoil ilchumasach seo an éagsúlacht ar fad atá ar fáil sa traidisiún Gaelach iomlán a léireadh, ó phoirt fadalacha, mothálacha go buillí gasta, bríomhara, tá leo!

Emma is a singer, song writer and presenter from Gweedore. She is a star rising high who sings enchantingly mixing soul, blues and traditional styles. She has recently supported Eddi Reader and Paul Brady and she currently presents the highly successful Trad ar Fad series for BBC2. Doimnic Mac Giolla Bhríde is the highly acclaimed winner of the prestigious Ó Riada Cup. Also from Gweedore, Doimnic focuses on composing and singing traditional Irish songs. He resurrects many songs for which we only have lyrics remaining today and he breathes new life into other songs with which the audience may be more familiar. The night will be headlined by Clann Mic Ruairí. From Rannafast in the Donegal Gaeltacht, this highly versatile group can present the whole spectrum of Irish traditional music, from slow, sensitive airs to fast, frenzied beats, they capture it all!
