Dorothy's War (This is a BSL Signed performance)

Sun 1st November 2015 7:30PM
The Barbour Institute, Chester, CH3 9PX
This is a new musical play devised and written by popular Cheshire-based trio The Harmonettes and based on the extraordinary, true story of Dorothy Lawrence's journalistic ambition to report from the Front Line during WW1. Imaginatively staged and packed with songs from the era, this play is poignant, humorous and positive in outlook. The story is told within the context of a rural village's celebration of war's end in 1919, led by the enthusiastic lady of the manor Esme Walter played by Georgina Jones who is well-known in Tattenhall for her enthusiastic work with The Tattenhall Singers. Tickets = £10.00 all ages To see The Harmonettes in action, go to their website at www.theharmonettes.co.uk and click on the VIDEO link on the bottom right hand side. Suitability = All ages (although very young children may not 'last' the entire performance of 2 hours 20 mins incl. interval). 3 male members of the audience are asked to participate in the fun part of the play.
