Jonathan Mayor is developing into a huge, huge cult. He is one of the finest comperes in the country, capable of settling even the rowdiest crowds with savage wit and a high octane stage presence. When Jonathan arrives, its showtime, engaging the audience both on and off-stage. He is one of the few acts who will not only perform when the stage lights are on, but also wander among the crowd, chatting and charming - truly "hosting" the night. It is this that has made him the most requested compere by audiences at many venues - including as a resident compere at Manchester's Frog and Bucket, where the list has included Johnny Vegas, Peter Kay, Dave Spikey and Steve Coogan. He hosted Sarah Millican’s comedy night when she appeared here two years ago.
The first ever female winner of the prestigious Comedy Store King Gong award, Karen was also a BBC New Comedy Awards Showcase final and Babycham Funny Women finalist, all when launching onto the UK comedy circuit in 2003. Brummie Karen has quickly picked up a whole host of rave reviews, comedy awards and references from her peers. Her material surprises with inspired and sparkling punchlines, with comic timing that is rarely less than brilliant.
Rahul Kohli mixes cutting-edge topical punchlines with jovial anecdotes, surreal stories and witty political analysis.
Andy White is An energetic, confident and silly Brummie who combines silly voices and a mad afro to devastating comic effect. Andy has numerous media appearances, including the BBC New Comedy Awards on BBC Choice, Brand Spanking New on BBC Radio 7 and his winning performance on the Weakest Link comedian’s special! His appearance on the BBC quiz show featured in his five star (* * * * * Three Weeks) Edinburgh show, ‘It Started With A Quiz’ in 2007. This followed on from his well-received one man show at the 2005 Leicester Comedy Festival: Young, Gifted and Beige.
