The Duke of Comedy - Pro Night (February)
Comedy night in Barrow-in-Furness @ The Duke of Edinburgh
This night consists of five brilliant and hilarious comedians. There is also an awesome headliner finishing off each gig. The line-up is:
MC - Philip Simon
Philip is one of the most sought after comperes and opening/closing acts working on the UK comedy circuit today. He gigs throughout the UK, as well having performed as far flung places as America, Scandinavia, Europe, The Middle East and New Zealand where he headlined at The Classic in Auckland.
"Philip Simon is never less than hilarious" - The Stage
"With Philip Simon as compere comedy is guaranteed" - The Jewish Chronicle
Opener - William Stone
William Stone is a Brighton based comedian, he began performing stand up comedy in 2015 and since then has been to the final of the BBC new comedy award, appeared on BBC Radio4 and BBC Radio2.
"Excellent writer of quirky one-liners" - Chortle
"Belting gags" - Angela Barnes (Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo)
Stone’s quick-witted writing style is contrasted by his awkward on-stage persona, and both are hilarious, belting out snappy gags supported by great characterisation, and touching on clown-like physicality" - Voice Mag
Middle Act - Kevin Berry
Kevin's comedy has been described as irreverent, acerbic, gripey and sometimes deep. This popular new comedian tackles the big problems and small annoyances with equal disdain and isn't happy with any of it. There is a lot wrong with life and Kevin Berry thinks it’s his job to point it out. It isn’t.
"Too good" - Jethro
"So funny" - Paul Smith
"Veteran performance" - Chortle
Headliner - Dave Green
Dave Green has been doing stand-up comedy since 2011. Since then his otherworldly persona and paranoid riffs on everyday life have fast proved popular with audiences in the UK and beyond. In 2018 he did his debut stand-up show ‘Melt’ at the Edinburgh Fringe festival. “The show established him as a keen writer who approaches the everyday from a different angle” (Chortle)
“Fantastically original gags” - Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke
"A keen eye for the absurd" - Wee Review
"Highly watchable deadpan style" - What’s on London
