Speaking at this event:
Kate Hartoch is the director of Circus City - Bristol's bi-ennial circus festival. She also works with Glastonbury Festival on a project that commissions work for the Theatre and Circus fields. Kate has recently been on selection groups for Spotlight UK Circus, Circus Next UK & ROI and the Richard Award.
Paschale is an outdoor theatre maker based in North Devon. She trained at Circomedia, centre for contemporary circus and physical theatre in Bristol and at Birkbeck College Theatre on the Directing MFA.
She has worked with a range of companies in a range of roles, with recent work including performance direction for the Bureau of Silly Ideas, co-devising and performing in Full Circle with Avanti Display and writing River Stories for Walk the Plank.
She is Co-Director of Red Herring, which creates playfully provocative performance that encourages audiences to take part in the action. Currently they are developing creative walks in rural locations.
She is also chair of National Association of Street Artists, a membership organisation of outdoor artists with a wide range of experience and background, which offers a forum, professional development opportunities and advocacy.
Richard is Co-Artist Director of Desperate Men who have been inviting people to play for over 37 years, creating, performing and producing ground-breaking outdoor theatre in the UK and internationally. As creative producers, we work on large-scale outdoor art projects and collaborate with other partners and arts organisations. We also create bespoke performances, street animations and education projects on commission and still find time for our own creative work. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, from working with local authorities to engage communities to setting up partnerships with other artists. Richard has seen the commissioning process from many sides of the fence and has extensive experience of working with all types of organisations and as such brings wisdom and insight into the process.
