Secret History of Closeburn Castle

Closeburn Castle, Dumfries and Galloway, DG3 5HH
Sun 23rd September 2018 7:00PM

Closeburn Castle: ancient seat of the Clan Kirkpatrick and a hidden gem steeped in dramatic history. One of the oldest continuously inhabited castles in Scotland, Closeburn was home to Roger 'Mak Siccar' Kirkpatrick, who famously killed the Red Comyn, and has links with many fascinating characters.

There is a darker, more curious side to the castle - once plagued by a chilling death omen, a lady in black has been witnessed along with the sense that someone is watching... Discover the grim end met by a Kirkpatrick servant, a colourful courtship with Napoleon III and some darkly intriguing tales from the castle's surroundings...
