"I said I’d never make a show about having cancer. This is a show about having cancer. Two years ago, aged 30, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. This is part of the story, but It’s Not Over Yet..."
An opportunity for musicians, dancers and performers to explore generating movement and sound from everyday objects with Emma Jayne Park and and Nik Paget Tomlinson.
The workshop will explore rhythm, text and syncopation while also finding new ways to generate performance material as a musician, a dancer and collaborator. The workshop will be inspired by themes from It’s Not Over Yet.
Originally from Gretna, Emma Jayne Park founded Cultured Mongrel in 2014 as a means to invite people to work with her not for her. Producing 'high octane, energetic and witty' (The Skinny) performance work that challenges our pre-conceptions of dance and theatre. Emma is currently Associate Artist with the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival and is dedicated to the development of dance across Dumfries and Galloway.
