Alexey Gusev is currently a soloist with Scottish Opera. Prior to moving to the West, Alexey sang principal baritone roles for a total of 7 years at the State Opera & Ballet Theatres of Rostov, and then Astrakhan, Russia. He is equally at home in opera and concerts, and has received critical acclaim in both genres: For Scottish Opera's concert performance of Tchaikovsky's Iolanta, theoperacritic.com wrote “Alexey Gusev’s Robert is impressive, and one to watch” “He is simply outstanding...his top register is glorious to hear” musicweb-international.com . Paulius Rudokas received a Master's degree from the Lithuanian Academy of Music . He has won numerous international piano awards and was honoured by the President of Lithuania for his international success, as well as by the Polish Government for promoting Polish culture through his performances of Chopin's music.He has performed with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, Klaipeda Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonic di Bacau and others, and is regularly invited to perform with Kaunas State Symphony Orchestra. He is now based in Glasgow and has performed with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra .
Egle Sarmaviciute started playing the piano at the age of six. She graduated from the National Ciurlionis School of Arts in Lithuania, and went on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music, completing her Masters degree in 2015. Egle has won many awards, including the first prize in Piano Duo at RNCM and was the winner of the Mark Rey prize. She has taken part in international festivals such as Music Fest Perugia, Miami Music Festival and the Imola Summer Piano Academy. SShe performs widely at home and abroad, both as a soloist and chamber musician.
Polina Shakhanova was born in Voronezh, Russia. She trained at the Voronezh Choreographic College, one of Russia’s leading ballet schools, and became a soloist at The Rostov State Theatre of Opera and Ballet , where she remained for 12 years. Polina then worked as principal soloist for the Astrakhan State Theatre of Opera & Ballet , and also qualified as a teacher of classical ballet. She has performed as a principal soloist with the Russian State Ballet and Opera House Company on their extensive UK tours as well as in Spain, Portugal, UAE, Italy and Germany.
