On 7th June 1942, a Halifax Aircraft took off from RAF Defford at 14:50 hrs carrying some of the countries most valued scientists. The passengers and flight crew never made it back home. The Aircraft crashed on the opposite side of Coppett Hill at 16:15 hrs, North of English Bicknor.
Your host, Dave Scaysbrook (Forensic Scientist) will talk you through these events, and show how scientific developments, before and after, still touch people’s lives today. Before the event you will be able to view the static displays which include items recovered from the crash site.
