Parent Forum

Dining hall, Knighton Lane East, LE2 6FU
Tue 28th November 2017

As you will be aware from my letter dated 9 October 2017, governors are proposing that Sir Jonathan North Community College joins The Lionheart Academies Trust in the near future and we would like to invite parents and carers to be a part of the discussion about this change.

The Government has made clear its intention for schools to become academies by 2022 and in particular for schools to organise themselves within groups. As their budgets are reduced, local authorities are also reducing the services that they have available to schools. Making this change means we can develop in partnership with another outstanding school.

Our values at Sir Jonathan North are that learning should be both enjoyable and rewarding; that students should have access to a broad and balanced curriculum. A shared ethos of academic excellence and holistic development will be central to this partnership.

We believe that this collaboration will have a positive impact on the already excellent standards of teaching and learning, pastoral care, and extra-curricular provision at Sir Jonathan North.

To give you an opportunity to discuss this change, there will be a Parent Forum at 6 pm on Tuesday 28 November 2017.  Please reserve your place via the link on the College website.  We look forward to seeing you there.
