Youth Anthems #23
Sunday April 28th
OK we're going into the swing of 2019 now. I'm mega excited about this one and I reckon you will be too.
As ever alongside three incredible bands we've got the ever phenomenal cakes from That Old Chestnut, face painting from Girl Gang Leeds and all the awesome hot and cold drinks from the incredible bar at our home Wharf Chambers.
This is an accessible, family friendly gig where all are welcome. If you have any questions about this or suggestions about how we can be better then just get in touch.
Doors are at 1.30pm with bands on between 2 and 4pm.
For your musical pleasure we have...
Yorkshires finest hip-hop trio. Socially conscious, innovative, jazz sampling heroes ala J5, DJ Format or Del La Soul. You might have heard one of the group ExP interviewed recently on Romesh Raganathan's incredible 'Hip Hop Saved My Life" podcast. You might also be aware of their mind blowing self-titled album or it's follow up both of which hit number one on the Bandcamp sales charts. Oof!
The Dauntless Elite
Aside from marriage, the Dauntless Elite are pretty much the reason I moved to Leeds. Quite honestly the best UK punk band in the last 20 years. You could compare them to American Steel or Dillingee 4 (and the stage chat certainly compares) but they really are peerless. Pick up any of their albums, EPs or splits and you'll be listening to an absolute banger immediately.
I'm so glad we've manged to get this duo down. Comprising of Satnam Rathore and Lisa Marie Glover this local group blend British folk and traditional Indian songs alongside their own compositions.
