Beatrice (Juliet Stevenson, Bend It Like Beckham) and her son Elliot (Alex Lawther, The Imitation Game) arrive at their family holiday home in the French countryside in order to pack up and sell the house, a family separation looming unspoken in the background. In the woods next to the house, Elliot meets handsome bad boy Clément (Phénix Brossard) and begins to work through the dawning of his own sexuality and alienation from his mother, just as she figures out what it's like to walk alone for the first time.
