Pianist Rob Terry graduated from Birmingham’s Conservatoire with a degree in composition. His love for classical music (he is also a classical violinist) has however always tussled with a yearning to play jazz and so his early years as a professional player took him all over the world with a stint at Eurovision, working as musical director for Eartha Kit and touring America with a gospel band. Rob’s conflict however never really went away so this trio (which has performed together for over 8 years) takes elements of western classical music and combines them with harmonies and improvisation from the world of jazz to create something which truly redefines the ‘piano trio’. Rob, Paul (bass) and Charlie (drums) have arranged a concert that celebrates the music of the great George Gershwin - both his classical/musical works and his jazz - to produce a soundscape that will be familiar but refreshingly different. This music will grab your attention and entertain from start to finish.
