Murder in the Lemon Grove: murder mystery evening with Kate Ellis
"When Sicilian businessman Paolo Brusconi is found murdered in a lemon grove adjoining an archaeological site, four people come under suspicion."
Join bestselling thriller writer Kate Ellis and four very dodgy Italian suspects for a fun night of puzzle-solving and detection.
There will be wine available on the evening, as well as Kate's books for sale.
Kate Ellis was born and brought up in Liverpool and studied drama in Manchester. She is married with two grown up sons and worked in a variety of jobs, none of which she particularly enjoyed, before discovering that writing crime fiction was what she’d wanted to do all along.
Before ‘turning to crime’ she first enjoyed literary success as winner of the North West Playwrights Competition in 1990. Her keen interest in history and archaeology features strongly in her books. Described by The Times as ‘a beguiling author who interweaves past and present’ she has written twenty one novels featuring black archaeology graduate, DI Wesley Peterson, the latest of which is The Mermaid’s Scream, and five spooky mysteries featuring DI Joe Plantagenet. She also writes short stories and has been shortlisted twice for the CWA Short Story Dagger. Her first novel in a new trilogy set in the aftermath of the First World War, A High Mortality of Doves, was published in November 2016.
The parts of the four suspects will be played by library staff who will be reading from scripts.
