Atmospherica Evening Concert - Glacis
Glacis is modern classical composer Euan Alexander Millar-McMeeken whose work explores themes of permanence and impermanence, loss and fragility. His music has been described by A Closer Listen as “akin to that found on sets by Nils Frahm, Dustin O’Halloran and Alex Kozobolis” while Music Won’t Save You stated that “the extreme simplicity...speaks directly to the heart, in an amazing mix of fragility and power of expression”.
Glacis was born over the long winter of 2010 when MIllar-McMeeken decided to return to his classical roots. He has since released a collection of EPs and two full albums on a variety of record labels such as Facture, Fluid Audio, Tavern Eightieth and 22.16.04. He has collaborated with the likes of Western Skies Motel, Matthew Collings and Ed Hamilton (Dead Light) and with Collings released two albums under the guise Graveyard Tapes. His latest work, a collaboration with Caught In The Wake Forever, released on Crow Versus Crow, has been described as “understated, introspective music as welcoming as the first cool breezes and dappled light of autumn”
After spending three years immersed in the countryside and customs of the Scottish Borders - a period that informs his forthcoming project, Borders - Millar-McMeeken starts a new chapter in the North East of England, ready to play live and bring glacis to new audiences.
