Michelle Hockley combines her musical aptitude with her love for language, to enthuse life into her characters and the scenes in which they find themselves. After a successful career on the West End stage and Television, Michelle went on to read History at Durham University, where her love for facts, debate, analysis and investigation for the truth, flourished. After her thesis was published by Historic Royal Palaces and she triumphed in her role as Senior Early Modern Record... Specialist at The National Archives, a fusion of her talents was brought to the fore where a musicality is always present in her writing combined with an honesty for her cast. Her debut novel, Before Spring Came Summer, is an enchanting piece, influenced by facts, set in the seventeenth century, following the life of Jane Whorwood, who wrestles with events of the day as well as those presented to her by the society in which her life is lived. With Michelle's novels, you won't only get a story, you will also get a moment.
Michelle will be talking about her book 'Before Spring Came Summer' at 3:30pm on the Sunday of the event.
