An enjoyable one-day workshop drawing flowers and botanicals from direct observation. Artists have been drawing and painting flowers and plants for centuries and in this workshop, you will be able to look at some of the best examples. You will be able to learn about different compositions, ways to create texture and colour harmonies. Experimenting with blending colours, optical colour mixing, complementary colours and individual mark making you will be able to move towards developing your own personal style to create a vibrant pastel drawing.
Materials to bring: Chalk pastels, sheet of A2 or larger coloured pastel paper, putty rubber, pencil, eraser, fixative. Paper is available from the school shop.
