The Ups & Downs of the Shropshire Hills - including Llamas & Zwartbles Sheep

Sat 18th May 2019
The Bridges Pub (also known as The Horseshoe Inn) car park, Ratlinghope, SY5 0ST
A circular walk passing through the beautiful Shropshire Hills between the renowned Long Mynd and the Stiperstones ridge.  Starting from the The Bridges pub car park, the route takes us through pasture land and meadows of small farms, where you may see rare breeds of sheep and even llamas.  At the foot of the Stiperstones ridge, the walk turns westwards with panoramic views across the valley to the Long Mynd and down the valley of the East Onny river. We begin to drop down across grassland and through deciduous woodland to eventually reach the river.  A small climb takes us onto an old drovers' route, offering more spectacular views, before heading back to the pub, where tea and cake are available for those who wish to partake.  Please allow 30 minutes for driving from Bishop's Castle and bring drinks and a packed lunch.
Please note that there a quite a few stiles on this route.
