We regret that his event has been cancelled

Our music production courses are aimed at anyone who has an interest in learning more about producing music – attendees do not need to be able to play an instrument. If they have a passion for music and are keen to find out more about music technology or producing then they will enjoy this course. Students will develop skills in writing, arranging, recording, mixing and mastering music and will be able to take home their work upon completion.

The first course of 2018-19 will focus upon writing and how to use MIDI to create your own music

  • Learn how to use virtual instruments plug-ins to create a piece of music from scratch
  • Use video or images to inspire you compose in a particular theme or style
  • Discover how easy it can be to bring your original music ideas to life

The second course (April 2019) will cover Recording, particularly using professional audio equipment and microphones to record live instruments. The third course (July 2019) will be about Mixing and using studio techniques to produce a raw track to radio quality.

Taking place at the fully refurbished Scott Music Centre at Queen Anne's School in Caversham, participants will benefit from the use of brand new equipment in the centre's Mac Suite.
