Jesus Christ Superstar is the 1970's rock opera composed by the 21 year old composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and 25 year old lyricist Tim Rice.
It's daring content looks at the last week of Jesus’ life, as seen from the point of view of Judas, including his arrival in Jerusalem with his disciples, and crucifixion.
It includes a number of classic rock musical numbers including “Gethsemane”, “I Don’t Know How To Love Him”, “Everything’s Alright” and “Superstar”. Cirencester Kingshill School are extremely excited to be tackling this radical rock/theatre hybrid in the wonderful Griffin Theatre.
