Award winning musicians Jonathan Radford and Andrey Lebedev present a unique and colourful programme exploring the rich culture of popular music from around the world with both original and transcribed works for saxophone and guitar.
Praised for his “exceptional musicianship and emotive playing”, saxophonist Jonathan Radford is the 2018 Royal Over-Seas League Music Competition Gold Medalist and first prize winner. He has given recitals at major venues across Europe including Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Grieg Hall in Bergen and Philharmonie in Paris and has been featured as a Rising Star in the BBC Music Magazine.
Andrey Lebedev is a prize winner of the 2017 ARD Music Competition, regarded as the world’s most prestigious. He burst on to the international music scene in 2014 invited by luminary guitarist Julian Bream to perform a London solo recital including ground-breaking new commissions by Sir Harrison Birtwistle and Leo Brouwer, and the following year worked with guitarist John Williams on a recital project of Australian chamber music including the world premiere of Gertrude Fragments by Brett Dean.
