A short walk to Crows Nest Dingle, to explore the restored miners' cottages at Blakemoregate on the Stiperstones Ridge. We then descend the Ridge via the remains of an ancient holly forest, thought to be the last remaining such wood in Europe, before visiting the remote Lords Hill Chapel before lunch in the Miners Dry (changing house) on the Snailbeach Mine site. During the afternoon, the plan is to go underground for a tour of the mine. There will be short stretches underground where bending will be necessary. Please bring a packed lunch and drinks. You will also need Wellington boots for the mine tour, as parts of the mine are flooded.
Note: There is a £6.00 charge for the mine visit, levied by the Shropshire Mines Trust, which will be collected on the day.
