'TRIPLE BILL' Eliot Smith Dance

Sat 18th May 2019
Spennymoor Settlement's Everyman Theatre, Spennymoor, DL16 6RY

Choreographer: Mathieu Geffré-Gardiner (Mathieu Geffré Dance)
“There are only two things: love, all sorts of love, and the music of New Orleans or Duke Ellington. Everything else ought to go, because everything else is ugly.”

Choreographer: Rosie Kay (Rosie Kay Dance Company)
"This work is about the layers of performance that a female dancer has, stripping each layer away, showing more and more authenticity and allowing an audience into another human’s soul."

Choreographer: Eliot Smith
"POPPY is a retrospective and abstract look at war and conflict and the sacrifices made by those affected. The dance captures the spirit, using contemporary and athletic movement and set to a specially commissioned score by American trombonist and composer Jason Holcomb. POPPY is in collaboration with The Royal British Legion."
