An out-of-this world comedy inspired by female heroism, from the everyday to the extraordinary.
Rhea is the teacher terrified of travel. Dreading a school trip, her panic rises until she’s rescued by three pioneering women from adventure’s golden age.
This time-bending play weaves together the amazing stories of real women from Hertfordshire who fought for suffrage (Lady Constance Lytton), travelled the globe (Violet Cressy-Marcks) and performed breath-taking aerial feats (Dolly Shepherd).
Nothing on Earth is developed from the hugely popular Hertfordshire’s Hidden Heroines project. It celebrates generations of women who resolutely refuse to be put in a ‘box’.
Join us at the start of a creative journey, becoming the first to experience a new play being made in Hertfordshire before touring locally and nationally in 2020.
Presented by Pursued by a Bear in partnership with Trestle Theatre Company, Hertford Theatre, Dacorum Borough Council, Pump House Watford and University of Hertfordshire’s School of Creative Arts and Heritage Hub and with funding from Arts Council England.
