Stroud Short Stories
An evening of short stories by Gloucestershire authors on the theme of fire, heat, passion and rebellion
Formed in 2011, this is Stroud Short Stories 18th event and its first at the Cotswold Playhouse. Referred to by the Cheltenham Literature Festival as “possibly the best short story event in the South West”, SSS’s considerable reputation is based on the unfailingly high quality of the stories read at its events.
Writers from across Gloucestershire submit their stories twice a year to organiser John Holland. Ten stories are chosen from the hundred or so usually submitted to be read by their authors – professional writers, skilled amateurs and complete beginners – at the event.
The last event sold out in less than 6 hours (!) so you should book early to avoid disappointment.
This time John is judging with short fiction author and novelist Ali Bacon.
