Relaxed Early Opening - autism friendly

On Wednesday 20 February the Great North Museum: Hancock will be opening 1 hour earlier. This early opening is an opportunity for people to visit at a quieter time and is aimed at our visitors with autism, learning disabilities or sensory and communication disorders, along with their families and carers.

There will be the opportunity to take part in our 'Plant a seed' activity.

At 10.00 am the museum will open to the general public and you are more then welcome to stay longer or leave the museum to enjoy the rest of your day elsewhere.

Please note that there is no public parking on site and there are limited blue badge spaces which are available on the day on a first come first serve basis. If you have a blue badge and the spaces are full then we will endeavor to find an alternative parking spot on site.
