Paul Clayton presents a masterclass workshop into how a theatre director works. He will be joined and assisted by professional actors Maanuv Thiara and Victoria Wicks.
Just what does a theatre director do in the rehearsal room? And how do they do it? Paul Clayton has a playful look at techniques directors use and how they get he actors to do what they want. A fun filled ninety minute session for all who have ever thought about directing, or for anyone who just wants to understand the rehearsal process a little more.
As director he has worked at many regional theatres including Nottingham Playhouse, Watermill Theatre, Newbury, Greenwich Theatre where his productions have included Gaslight, Good Morning Bill, Toad of Toad Hall, On Approval, Dilemma for Murder, Sticky Wickets, The Comedy of Errors, Green Forms, Privates on Parade, The Pocket Dream.
He directed The Ruffian On the Stair by Joe Orton with Lucy Benjamin at the Hope Theatre in January 2019 which received rave five star reviews.
He will be joined by actors Maanuv Thiara is an award winning young actor most recently seen in series 5 of Line of Duty and alongside Andrew Scott in Hamlet and Victoria Wicks is best known to audiences for six series of the award-winning Channel Four sitcom Drop The Dead Donkey in which she played the iconic Sally Smedley.
