Now in its fourth year, the Writers' Gathering is an inspiring day of events aimed at writers in Dumfries & Galloway and beyond. Taking place on Saturday 19 May 2018 in Wigtown, it will be led by some of the liveliest figures in Scotland's Literary scene. This year's keynote talk will be given by Lynsey Rogers of Scottish Book Trust, looking at opportunities for writers to develop their craft and promote their work across the nation. Lynsey will be joined by Jo Dingley, commissioning editor at Canongate Books; writer and publisher Laura Waddell; and crime writer and freelance editor Russel D Maclean. Together they will be delivering a variety of workshops and one-to-one sessions. There will also be a chance to network and talk to Wigtown Festival Company staff about year-round opportunities for writers within the region, including the forthcoming Galloway Writers Room project.
The Writers' Gathering costs just £20 but is free for under-25s. You can also make a group booking which gives entry for 6-10 people at £100 - perfect for creative writing groups.
